Position Purpose
As an HVAC Instructor for LONG, you will teach a variety of HVAC training classes, courses, and labs to a large and diverse student body. You will provide general and individual instruction to students while following established LONG curriculum, teaching philosophies, and safety standards all while furthering the goal of maximizing students’ potential professional success and career growth.
Pay Range: $16 - $ 37 per hr.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
To perform this job successfully, you must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other duties or tasks assigned as required. - Provide general group instruction to classes utilizing pre-established curriculum specific to the course being taught.
- Provide follow-up targeted specialized instruction to individual students as needed.
- Guide students through practical labs with an emphasis on facilitating hands on learning while ensuring student safety.
- Track student attendance.
- Assist with maintaining lab and facility equipment and reorder consumable supplies as needed.
- Adhere to the legacy of previous teaching methodologies and philosophy at all times.
- Adhere to company policies, conduct standards, and procedures.
- Ensure student adherence to school policies and procedures.
- Proctor EPA and NATE certification testing as needed.
- Encourage student growth, professionalism, and accountability.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- 7 years of HVAC industry experience and 3 years of experience in some type of HVAC instructing or training capacity.
- Must be mechanically inclined and possess excellent instructing and customer service skills.
- Ability to adjust teaching styles and instruction methods to meet individual student needs.
- Ability to work after-hours when needed.
- This position requires the ability to drive a company vehicle safely and legally.
- Advanced oral, written, interpersonal communication skills, as well as excellent documentation and organizational skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
- Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office programs (Word, Outlook, Excel) and able to learn additional computer software.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience developing HVAC instruction materials and/or lab exercises.

Physical Requirements
- This position includes sitting, lifting, bending, and kneeling for extended periods.
- This position requires occasional climbing ladders, working in mechanical rooms, and on roofs.
- This position may require lifting to 75 lbs. from floor to countertop and countertop to floor.
